A Fine Way to Celebrate Purim!
Being festive and rejoicing is one of the four traditional requirements at Purim. What better way to celebrate this holiday then by attending a joyous musical evening that pays tribute to some of America’s most influential 20th century Jewish composers?
This March, The Greenville County Library System will be bringing another Jewish exhibit entitled, A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910-1965 to the Hughes Main Library.

Entertainment will be provided by Jean Calvert and Company, a local jazz and blues ensemble scheduled to perform numbers from the “Great American Songbook” featuring selections from the Gershwins, Jerome Kern, Leonard Bernstein and Rodgers & Hammerstein.

“A Fine Romance” explores the lives and contributions of Jewish songwriters and the impact they’ve had on our nation’s unique musical heritage. The library system will be hosting additional programs to commemorate this time period.
