Jewish Family Services
Our Jewish Family Services (JFS) serves individuals throughout the Upstate who need support, including mental health support, companionship to combat loneliness, transportation or connection to community resources. JFS also manages our volunteers who make our events possible and, through our Mitzvah Corps, go out into the greater community doing good deeds.
Miki Karni is our JFS social worker and the Director of Jewish Family services.
Programs that JFS provides include:
ConnectAge - This group, for those ages 55 and over, meets monthly and gets information about how to age with meaningful relationships and support. Donation requested of $20 per meeting to cover costs. Register here.
Lunch and Share - This program is free. Participants bring their own lunch and listen while a community member shares a personal story about their life and experiences. It brings the community closer to the speaker and through the shared experience of participating. Register here so we know how many people to expect.
Grief Group - Those who have lost a loved one can participate in this group to work through their feelings and deal with grief through Jewish values and practice. Contact Miki to participate.
Individual Support - If you are in need of social services and live in the Upstate, call 864-606-4632 to see if you qualify.
